The computer problems happened right at the end of the session while we were closing down. The correct tables were used for presentations on Sunday.

Posted by Mike Lambert on 05 Jul 2011 at 22:38

I had obviously not sorted out all the computer problems and the BAGCAT tables I loaded earlier were incorrect. I have now made sure that all events have been included. The correct BAGCAT tables are now available.

Posted by Mike Lambert on 04 Jul 2011 at 23:11

Final BAGCAT tables are now available. I had some problems with one of my computers at the end of Sunday afternoon, which prevented me from loading this earlier.

Comment by Ken Parry on 04 Jul 2011 at 20:45

Any chance of posting the final Bagcat positions from Sunday?

Comment by Christina churcher on 03 Jul 2011 at 19:02

Can you make the bagcat results after heat 8 available please. We had to leave and my daughter would like to know where she came.

Comment by Nicolas Popov on 03 Jul 2011 at 17:18

where can we find final BAGCATs. Thank

Posted by Chris Lambert on 03 Jul 2011 at 16:54

The BAGCAT presentations conclude the Development Competition for 2011. We look forward to seeing you at the next HCASA event.

Posted by Chris Lambert on 03 Jul 2011 at 16:32

Michael Gill leads the BAGCATs and he shows that this event is no exception - winning by 3 seconds in 2:32.64. Oliver Scott is second but where will that put him overall?

Posted by Chris Lambert on 03 Jul 2011 at 16:31

And the final heat.  The last opportuntity for the 13 year olds to change the BAGCAT positions. Oliver Scott is currently 5th but doesn't have any Form points. A couple of hundred points here will see him in the top 3.

Posted by Chris Lambert on 03 Jul 2011 at 16:28

Vincent is the first of the two 11 year olds to touch  in 2:58.52 which makes him the fastest in the event.

Posted by Chris Lambert on 03 Jul 2011 at 16:27

Heat 7 has the last two 11 year olds - Vincent Ryan in lane 1 and Bayley Wainright in lane 6.  Vincent is just 15 points off the lead in the BAGCATs but with 194 Form points so far that's tough to improve on.

Posted by Chris Lambert on 03 Jul 2011 at 16:19

As the 5th heat enter the water Harrison Watson stays at the top of the Age 9 with a time of 3:16.42. Thomas Menlove and Alexander Edge go in lanes 1 and 2. It's Alexander who leads after 50 metres and he stays ahead to touch in 3:21.43.

Posted by Chris Lambert on 03 Jul 2011 at 16:13

The last two of the 9 year olds swim in heat 5. They are going to have to improve on their entry times if they want to move up the BAGCAT table.

Posted by Chris Lambert on 03 Jul 2011 at 16:10

BAGCAT certificates for the girls are (very nearly) coming out of the printer as the boys complete their final swims.

Many of the swimmers in the early heats are looking for their first Form event to move into the presentation positions.

Posted by Chris Lambert on 03 Jul 2011 at 15:54

And Lara-May takes the heat. Victoria Watts is second and the fastest 11 year old.

Posted by Chris Lambert on 03 Jul 2011 at 15:53

At the half way stage Lara-May Barnett leads and Victoria Watts is the fastest 11 year old.

Posted by Chris Lambert on 03 Jul 2011 at 15:52

Emily Barker doesn't start so there can be no further changes to the nine year old age group.

Posted by Chris Lambert on 03 Jul 2011 at 15:50

Just one heat of the Girls 9/11/13 200m Butterfly will decide the final BAGCAT positions in each of the age groups. There is just 1 nine year old swimming alongside 4 eleven year olds and 3 thirteen year olds.

Posted by Chris Lambert on 03 Jul 2011 at 15:49

Alex Thompson takes top spot in the Girls 15/16 100m Freestyle and Laura Gove is top of the 17/18 years.

Posted by Chris Lambert on 03 Jul 2011 at 15:49

And that sees Eddie Thomas moving to third place overall with one event to go.

Posted by Chris Lambert on 03 Jul 2011 at 15:44

Once again it's all 13 year olds in the final heat. Eddie Thomas leads with 50m left to swim. Joel Sheppard chases down the final length but Eddie wins it in 1:24.14.

Posted by Chris Lambert on 03 Jul 2011 at 15:42

The final 11 year olds swim in heat 4. Some vigourous drying of the blocks as they wait for their swim. Finlay Evans swimming in lane 2 surfaces first but it's Joshua Lees who is the fastest 11 year at the turn.

Joshua sets the fastest time for 11 year olds of 1:34.19.

Posted by Chris Lambert on 03 Jul 2011 at 15:36

Next up is the Boys 11/13 100m Breaststroke. The boys still have the 200m Backstroke to go after this.

Posted by Chris Lambert on 03 Jul 2011 at 15:35

Elizabeth Rose moves up to 2nd in the Age 11 BAGCAT and Ellen Arthey moves top of the Age 13.  Just the 200 Fly could change these.

Posted by Chris Lambert on 03 Jul 2011 at 15:31

Ellen leads at the turn and comes in around 4 seconds under her entry time in 1:12.87.  We'll see what that does to the BAGCAT positions shortly.

Posted by Chris Lambert on 03 Jul 2011 at 15:30

The final heat is all 13 year olds. A good time for Ellen Arthey will move her up the BAGCAT table as she hasn't recoreded a 100m time so far.

Posted by Chris Lambert on 03 Jul 2011 at 15:29

Heat 4 has the final 11 year olds with the time to beat so far 1:25.10. Elizabeth Rose is the fastest at the mid-way turn and finishes in 1:21.05 to be the fastest 11 year old.

Posted by Chris Lambert on 03 Jul 2011 at 15:25

On to the Girls Age 11/13 100m Backstroke. This is the final chance to improve on BAGCAT positions for many of the girls as only a few are brave enough to attempt 200 Fly!

Posted by Chris Lambert on 03 Jul 2011 at 15:19

Max Rutherford moves to the top of the Age 9 BAGCATs with a lead of just 6 points over Harrison Watson.

All change in the Age 11 - Jack Kelly now leads over Vincent Ryan.

No change at the top of the Age 13 by Chris Finch edges ahead of Oliver Scott to take third place outright.

Posted by Chris Lambert on 03 Jul 2011 at 15:15

And the final heat is all 13 year olds. Very tight for third place in the BAGCATs at the moment. Michael Gill touches first in 28.86 and will be looking to extend his overall lead.

Posted by Chris Lambert on 03 Jul 2011 at 15:12

Heat 9 has the last 5 eleven year olds. Just over 50 points seperate the top three in the BAGCATs in the age group.

The time to beat is Nathan Hopper's 33.96. Finlay Evans touches as fastest 11 year old in 32.70.

Posted by Chris Lambert on 03 Jul 2011 at 15:08

Max Rutherford is the fastest 9 year old in the heat and I think fastest overall.  But will he get enough points to move up the BAGCAT table?

Posted by Chris Lambert on 03 Jul 2011 at 15:07

The last of the 9 year olds goes in heat 6 of the Boys 50m Freestyle. Again, very close in the BAGCATs as two of the top three swim in this heat.

Posted by Chris Lambert on 03 Jul 2011 at 15:04

Adele Gaskin moves up to third overall in the Age 11 competition after the 50m Breaststroke. No change to the top three in the other age groups.

Posted by Chris Lambert on 03 Jul 2011 at 14:58

The final heat is all 13 year olds. Phoebe Evans (who swam in heat 6) leads the BAGCAT competition by 80 points over Libby Dowson who can look to close the gap in the final heat.

Posted by Chris Lambert on 03 Jul 2011 at 14:56

Ella touches in 50.75 which means she is behind Jessica Cross who leads the BAGCAT competition.

Posted by Chris Lambert on 03 Jul 2011 at 14:55

Heast 5 enters the water and Ella Hamilton is the last 9 year old to swim. she is just 33 points off first place in the BAGCAT competition so a good score could see her taking the lead.

Posted by Mike Lambert on 03 Jul 2011 at 14:55

Results by club for this morning's session have now been uploaded.

Posted by Chris Lambert on 03 Jul 2011 at 14:53

As you can see we're off with the final session of this year's competition,

Posted by Mike Lambert on 03 Jul 2011 at 14:42

That's a relief. We are pretty confident we are getting the calculations right. If there is a problem, it generally takes us a long time to find it!

I have been through two other BAGCAT competitions with problemsa since the County Champs where we DID make a mistake.

Comment by Ken Parry on 03 Jul 2011 at 14:33

Weird - it looks ok now!

Posted by Mike Lambert on 03 Jul 2011 at 14:31

If you wonder why we start this session with 50s and finish with 200s it is to give us time to sort out BAGCAT positions at the end.

Posted by Chris Lambert on 03 Jul 2011 at 14:28

Have you got any examples of inconsistencies? I've done some spot checks and they look OK.

Comment by Ken Parry on 03 Jul 2011 at 14:19

Thanks for that - it looks like the points for event 713 in the results dont tally with the points on the Bagcat standings....

Posted by Chris Lambert on 03 Jul 2011 at 14:14

Not sure what happened to 710 and 713 but I've uploaded them now.

Comment by Ken Parry on 03 Jul 2011 at 14:02

Wnat's happened to the results of 710 and 713?

Posted by Mike Lambert on 03 Jul 2011 at 13:58

The protest into the result of event 712 has been upheld. The result has been republished and swimmers may now collect medals.

Posted by Mike Lambert on 03 Jul 2011 at 13:20

The session is now complete. The boys BAGCAT tables to the end of session 7 are now available.

Posted by Mike Lambert on 03 Jul 2011 at 13:18

The result of event 712 is currently the subject of a protest.

Posted by Mike Lambert on 03 Jul 2011 at 12:48

The younbg girls have finished for session 7, so I can now publish girls BAGCAT tables at the end of session 7.

Comment by Richard Lewis on 03 Jul 2011 at 11:22

Good Luck to Nicola Lewis and everyone else from HART. Wish I could have been there.

Posted by Mike Lambert on 03 Jul 2011 at 11:09

The four remaining 9 year olds in heat 3 have a target of 3.42.78 to beat. None of them do, so Emily Barker's time from heat 1 is the fastest age 9.

Posted by Mike Lambert on 03 Jul 2011 at 10:54

Now we have 7 heats of girls 200m breaststroke. The last 9 year old goes in heat 3. The other two age groups will not be decided until the final heat.

Posted by Mike Lambert on 03 Jul 2011 at 10:45

Heat 11 and our three remaining 11 year olds have a target of 2.37.07 to beat, set by Joseph Kite. Only Jack Lebbern in lane 7 has a fater entry time. At 150m he is well on track to beaty Joseph. At the end he is 5 seconds inside.

Posted by Mike Lambert on 03 Jul 2011 at 10:33

We are now in heat 7. The 3 remaining 9 year olds have a tough target 2.56.95 set by Max Rutherford. Matthew Hammann beats that time with ease to be the fastest 9 year old.

Comment by sarah Gibbons on 03 Jul 2011 at 10:23

Good luck to Braden Daniels and Jack Kelly and everyone else from Havant & Waterlooville. From Jacob

Posted by Mike Lambert on 03 Jul 2011 at 10:08

The last 9 year old goes in heat 7; the last 11 year old in heat 11, so it wll be some time before we have any idea of positions.

Posted by Mike Lambert on 03 Jul 2011 at 10:00

Just starting the first heat of the morning. Today it is the boys turn to swim 200m freestyle. There are 12 heats.

A much shorter session in prospect than this morning. We expect to finish inside 2 hours.

Posted by Chris Lambert on 02 Jul 2011 at 12:04

It's getting a little quicker now. Girls 100m Butterfly and Boys 100m Freestyle done. Now Girls 100m Breaststroke.

Posted by Chris Lambert on 02 Jul 2011 at 12:02

Sorry for not giving many updates - it's hard to see what's going on from in our cupboard.

Posted by Chris Lambert on 02 Jul 2011 at 11:36

We now come to the Girls 15/16 and 17/18 200m Backstroke. Just one heat of this and these older swimmers are competing for medals in the individual events.

Posted by Chris Lambert on 02 Jul 2011 at 11:35

We'll publish the first BAGCAT table at the end of the session.

Posted by Chris Lambert on 02 Jul 2011 at 11:35

So don't forget that the 9, 11 and 13 year old swimmers are competing for trophies in the overall BAGCAT competition.

Posted by Chris Lambert on 02 Jul 2011 at 11:34

Eddie Thomas wins the heat in 3:01.45 which will put him in the lead in the BAGCAT rankings after the first event.

Posted by Chris Lambert on 02 Jul 2011 at 11:32

Joel Shepperd's time of 3:11.82 set way back in heat 2 is still the one to beat.

Posted by Chris Lambert on 02 Jul 2011 at 11:31

Of course I should have said 11 year olds not 12 year olds. No 12 year olds this weekend.

Posted by Chris Lambert on 02 Jul 2011 at 11:30

On to the final heat of the 200m Breaststroke now. Just one 12 year old to go and the rest are 13.

Posted by Mike Lambert on 02 Jul 2011 at 11:17

Heat three of the boys 200m breaststroke is coming to an end and marks a major milestone .. we can turn over to page 2 of the start sheet.

Posted by Mike Lambert on 02 Jul 2011 at 11:04

You may need to refresh, but the full results of event 501 are now available.

Posted by Mike Lambert on 02 Jul 2011 at 11:01

That takes us to the end of the girls 9/11/13 200m freestyle. To complete the slate of fastest swimmers, Phoebe Evans leads the age 13s.

Posted by Mike Lambert on 02 Jul 2011 at 10:58

The last 11 year old, Natasha Bocchetta goes in the penultimate heat with 2.35.56 to beat. She records a time of 2.40.85, so Phoebe Burdett is the fastest in that age group.

Posted by Mike Lambert on 02 Jul 2011 at 10:40

Here we are heat 8 and Ella Hamilton must beat 3.00.58 to become the fastest 9 year old. This is more than 2 seconds inside her entry time. Ella is inside the splits for that time all the way through anf finishes in 2.58.20.

Posted by Mike Lambert on 02 Jul 2011 at 10:22

We have 10 more 9 year olds left to swim. The fastest (on paper) goes in heat 8.

Posted by Chris Lambert on 02 Jul 2011 at 10:04

Heat 1 of the Girls 200m Freestyle is in the water.

Posted by Mike Lambert on 02 Jul 2011 at 09:54

Warm-up is complete and the officials are about to march on to poolside.

Posted by Mike Lambert on 02 Jul 2011 at 09:49

As last weekend, we start each day with 200m freestyle. This morning, we have 14 heats of the girls 9/11/13 years. The first 2 heats promise to give the officials plenty of time to get settled.

Posted by Mike Lambert on 02 Jul 2011 at 09:47

The start list for session 5 is now available. About 10 minutes until we start.

Comment by Richard Lewis on 02 Jul 2011 at 09:32

The second weekend is almost upon us. We will be setting off "stupidly early" from Basingstoke to make sure that we are ready to go on time.

Anyone interested in helping us in the cupboard? You need to be computer literate. Understanding the ARES timing system would be a bonus.

Don't forget to withdraw if you are not planning to swim.

Comment by Ffion Thomas on 26 Jun 2011 at 17:51

Well done Hart!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Final girls BAGCAT positions.

Posted by Mike Lambert on 26 Jun 2011 at 15:17

I hope to get the BAGCAT results on the web before I leave the pool this afternoon. Results by club will have to wait until I get home .. it is too hot to sit around for any longer than we have to.

Posted by Mike Lambert on 26 Jun 2011 at 15:14

The last girls event, the 200m fly, is about to start as soon as we are finished, I will be able to generate the final BAGCAT results for the three age groups of girsl who swam this weekend.

Posted by Mike Lambert on 26 Jun 2011 at 14:52

End of page 1 of the heats list, just 25 minutes gone.

Posted by Mike Lambert on 26 Jun 2011 at 14:28

We are off with heat 1 of girls 50m breaststroke.

Posted by Mike Lambert on 26 Jun 2011 at 14:24

Almost ready to go and it is stiflingly hot on poolside. This session starts with a whole page of 50m swims and finishes with 200s. This is a deliberate plan to enable us to print BAGCAT tables and certificates.

Posted by Mike Lambert on 26 Jun 2011 at 14:04

I have just uploaded the starts list for session 4. Only 2 pages.

Posted by Mike Lambert on 26 Jun 2011 at 13:09

BAGCAT tables after session 3

Posted by Mike Lambert on 26 Jun 2011 at 12:10

We are well into the final event of the morning, the boys 100m IM. At the end of this event, I will upload the BAGCAT tables up to the end of session 3.

Posted by Mike Lambert on 26 Jun 2011 at 11:18

10 year olds do not swim 100m in this competition. So only 12 and 14 year olds in this event.

Posted by Mike Lambert on 26 Jun 2011 at 11:17

Just two heats of the boys 100m butterfly.

Posted by Mike Lambert on 26 Jun 2011 at 11:13

The highlight of the morning so far is coming up. After this heat we can turn to page 2 of the starts list.

Posted by Mike Lambert on 26 Jun 2011 at 11:12

Now in the final heat of the girs 200m breaststroke. We already know that Emily Martin is the fastest age 10. (Remember there are no medals for individual events, awards are based on FINA points across a range of swims).

Posted by Mike Lambert on 26 Jun 2011 at 10:38

We are now starting 9 heats of girls 200m breaststroke.

Posted by Mike Lambert on 26 Jun 2011 at 10:36

The results of event 301 are now available. You may need to refresh the screen.

Posted by Mike Lambert on 26 Jun 2011 at 10:30

The last heat of the boys 200m freestyle is now in the water.

Posted by Mike Lambert on 26 Jun 2011 at 10:23

The last 2 age 10s arew in the water in heat 6, with 2.44.82 to beat. Neither beat that time, so Luke Kincart takes first place in that age group.

Posted by Mike Lambert on 26 Jun 2011 at 10:11

For anyone who is confused about the start time for heats, the clock on the electronic timing system is synchronised with the clock on the wall in the pool. Waterlooville Summer Time is about 3 minutes behind BST.

Now, admit it, you are confused.

Posted by Mike Lambert on 26 Jun 2011 at 10:08

Still no usable Vodafone signal. So far my 3 Mifi seems to be working fine.

Posted by Mike Lambert on 26 Jun 2011 at 10:03

We are underway with the first heat of 9 of the boys 200m freestyle. The first heat will take a while with the slowest swimmers.

Posted by Mike Lambert on 26 Jun 2011 at 09:45

I have now uploaded a start list for session 3. Looks like the session will be slightly shorter than yesterday morning.

I have posted updated Boys BAGCAT points up to the end of Saturday.

Posted by Mike Lambert on 25 Jun 2011 at 15:02

There seem to be some odd splits in the results of event 101. We will need to investigate and remove the ones that don't make sense. That won't happen until tomorrow.

Posted by Chris Lambert on 25 Jun 2011 at 15:00

@VodafoneUK has given up completely. @ThreeUK is still going but Windows keeps insisting on switching to the non-working Vodafone link!
